Forthcoming Courses Planned

The following are courses planned to run over the next 6-9 months.  If you are interested in joining one of the courses, please contact us to see if there is a place still available.

Understanding How Light Can Enhance Your Compositions - 21-23 February 2013 - The North Norfolk Coast has wonderful light so come and explore the area with your camera, learning about different types of light and how best to use them to enhance your compositions.  From sunsets to stormy light, sunshine to shade, indoor to natural light, there are endless creative possibilities.  This workshop weekend is suitable for all levels of experience, digital SLR or compact cameras.  It is a practical led course going out on location both days (weather permitting) along the coast photographing with me coming to you individually to help, guide, suggest, encourage, analyse etc.  We will also do a class exercise one of the days.  Cost is £239 per person and includes teaching, accommodation, freshly cooked food.  Maximum of 12 people per course.  Please note the accommodation is not luxurious but in comfortable bunk beds, but you will have your own room with ensuite.  Alternatively you can be a non-residental participant staying at a local B&B in which case the cost for the course is £166 (doesn't include Sat eve meal though but everything else).  Also it is possible to take along your partner for the weekend and they can do their own thing whilst you are photographing but join in for meals etc - cost for non-participating person sharing room £129.  For further details on the weekend and bookings, please contact the National Trust Brancaster Staithe Activity Centre direct on 01485 210719 or brancaster@nationaltrust.org.uk.

Twilight and Night Photography - Saturday 12 April and 26 April 2014 - This is a practical two-session course going out on location with me into Newbury to photograph a variety of locations in the evening.  The first session I would give an introduction to photographing under low light conditions including any technical considerations and then we would go out photographing.  The second session we would analyse the photos taken the previous session and then go out photographing again to a different location putting into practice what was learnt from the analysis session.  Each session would be 4 hours, starting in a pub/cafe and then going out on location in Newbury.  The course is for beginners or the more experienced, with SLR or compact cameras.  However it is important that you have a tripod for the course.  (I do have a couple spare which I am happy to lend out on a first come first served basis).  Cost is £85 per person, maximum 8 people on the course.
